How To Create A Productive Instagram Schedule
Instagram is a really important part of business marketing strategy now, but it’s also the most dangerous to productivity.Engaging with your niche on Instagram for one thing is brilliant, but it can quickly turn from 10 minutes to an hour of scrolling. Posting a new picture can take a really long time if you can’t think of a good caption. The good news is that you can be productive and crush your social media game at the same time, and I’m here to share with you how.
Create a media library
Create a library of on-brand images that a ready to go. If you post pictures you take on your phone, create a new photo album called Instagram Media Library. The next time you want to post to Instagram, you know exactly where to go instead of scrolling through your last ten selfies (or if you’re me, the last twenty pictures of your dog).My Instagram media library lives on Later, where I organise all of my photos with labels. Some of the labels I have are: floral, stationery, text, and colour block. This makes it easy for me to find any kind of image I want to post.
Create a captions bank
Being authentic in your captions is crucial to engage with your audience, but they don’t always have to be real-time.You can save captions with inspirational quotes in advance so that the next time you’re stuck writing a post, you have something ready to go.
Schedule posts in advance
You can seriously boost your productivity by scheduling at least a week’s worth of posts in advance instead of having to choose photos and write captions each time you want to post.I use the Later app, which works according to Instagram’s rules. I love that it works on both phone and desktop (I do all of my planning on my computer), and it has an awesome preview so you can see how your posts will look.Finding the right time to schedule your posts and write your captions is important because you really need to be *in the groove* to write awesome captions, and you need to be undisturbed for at least 30 minutes. If you’re the kind of person that likes structure, you can pick a window when you know you can get in solid work. For me, I need to be in a writing mood to get this done, so this method doesn’t work for me. Rather, I schedule my posts two weeks in advance, and give myself a two-day window towards the end of that so that I can write whenever I feel inspired during those two days.Scheduling your Instagram posts is not only good for productivity, but it’s also great for strategy as it helps you be more consistent with your posts, and test out different posting times. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really should!
