Excited to have Kyla Sims with us she is an amazing Pinterest teacher and today she is giving us her Top five tips for getting more traffic with pinterest!
1. Design amazing pins!
You need to make sure you’re creating well design vertical pins. (No small or
horizontal images). In order to get traffic from Pinterest, you need to get that ‘click’
so you should also put a lot of focus on coming up with curiosity-inducing headlines
that make people want to find out what’s on the other side of that pin.
Not sure how to create pinnable images for your blog? There is an amazing free
design studio called Canva.com that I use to create my pins. They have templates
and premade layouts that make it as easy as possible for you to create amazing
pins (even if you’re not a designer).
2. Join as many group boards as humanly possible when starting out.
Seriously, you can never belong to too many group boards.
I cannot stress this point enough! Contributing and engaging with group boards on
Pinterest will help you reach thousands of followers when you don’t have a ton of
followers of your own. It’s super important that you search for group boards within
your target niche.
When you find a group board in your niche, make sure you browse through the
pins and see what kind of content is being pinned to that boards. Be on the lookout
for spam and off-topic pins. This signals that it’s not a healthy board. If you decide
to join group boards like this then the chances of your pins getting seen will be very
low.
There is a whole chapter on how to find and join high-quality group boards in the
Manual Pinning Simplified eBook along with a winning group board strategy
masterclass that walks you through it all.
3. Don’t just pin your own content.
Repinning other quality pins that are helpful to your audience (that they will repin
and click on) is a great way to get Pinterest to start showing your own pins more. I
like to call this “Pinterest Clout.” Pinterest is always grading you as a pinner. The
more you contribute value to the platform the more Pinterest will reward you by
moving your pins up in the search and smart feed. And more eyes on your pins
means more traffic to your site.
4. Optimize your pins and account with keywords.
Pinterest is a search engine with a sharing culture built in. Getting your pins shown
in the search is one of the best ways to get more traffic to your site. Think of it like
Google on steroids. You can easily find targeted keywords by doing a search on
Pinterest. In the manual pinning simplified eBook I show you how to easily find
keywords that will get you amazing results.
5. Use a mix of manual and scheduled pinning to get the most out of the
platform.
Pinterest will give your pins a higher ranking and show them to more pinners when
you signal to them that you’re an engaged pinner that has lots valuable things to
share. A lot of people get hung up on how many times they should be pinning every
day and if manual pinning is better than using a scheduler? I say that you can
benefit from using both.
In the Manual Pinning Simplified eBook, I show you my easy-to-follow manual
pinning system that I developed for busy bloggers. The word manual stirs up all
kinds of feelings. Like, “ain’t nobody got time for that!” and I get it. Our time is
valuable and scarce.
I’m a single mom to three small kids, so I thought I would never find the time to pin
manually. However, I recently discovered a time-saving system that uses only the
Pinterest app on my smartphone.
Using my smartphone to manually pin a few times a day has literally tripled the
traffic to my blog, not to mention I’ve also seen an increase in email subscribers
and sales. I go into Pinterest when I’m waiting in the mommy line, cooking dinner,
or right before I go to bed (among other places). It takes me about 3-5 minutes each
time I jump on and gets me BIG results.
Inside the eBook, there is also a short 15-minute video that shows you exactly how
I manually pin (inside the app) and keep track of my pinning right on my
smartphone. You don’t need to use time-consuming spreadsheets or pin tracking,
all you need is the Pinterest app and a smartphone.
If you want better results from your efforts on Pinterest (or you’re just starting out
on the platform) then you need to get your hands on the Manual Pinning Simplified
eBook. Go ahead and grab your copy today for only $24.
